MP Agron Shehaj has left the plenary session after being expelled for 20 days by the Ethics Secretariat due to tensions that occurred during Monday's session in the Albanian Parliament.
In a statement to journalists after leaving the hall, the Mundësia Party MP stated that during his speech he did not curse or offend anyone, but only conveyed the concerns of the residents of Rrjolli, who have long been protesting for their properties.

According to Shehaj, residents of the area oppose the construction of a tourist resort, claiming that around 150 hectares of land have been unjustly taken from them.
"On Monday, I did what every MP should do: bring the voice of the citizens to the Assembly. In Rrjoll, citizens are protesting because their property has been seized. The police are acting like a policeman, while private guards, masked with hoods and with rubber batons, have raped the protesters who are defending their property," he said.

Shehaj: On Monday, I did what every MP should do, bring the voice of the citizens to the Albanian Parliament. Meanwhile, in Rrjol, citizens are protesting that their village property, 150 hectares, has been seized by the former director of Hipoteka. The police are acting like a scoundrel, and the private police, hooded bandits and rubber batons are beating the protestors who are defending their property. I spoke about this issue, I did not curse, push or offend anyone. I also showed them the footage that, while they had not seen it, there are elderly people who have been raped to the point where their legs have been broken. A 19-year-old was punched. The Parliament has turned to defend the corrupt. We will protest for the properties today, at 6 o'clock.
