The Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Flamur Noka, together with the head of the Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, and the chairwoman of the Human Rights Commission, Jorida Tabaku, held a meeting with Paulo Zampolli, the US President's Special Envoy for Global Partnerships.

According to the DP announcement, the focus of the meeting was the political, institutional and economic situation in Albania, while opposition representatives raised a number of concerns about the functioning of democracy and institutions.

The DP stated that organized crime and corruption have created, according to it, an unfavorable climate for foreign investments and have damaged the trust of international partners in Albania.

Another issue raised during the meeting was the concentration of power and political influence over institutions. Democratic representatives accused Edi Rama's government of weakening the separation of powers and, according to them, hindering the independent functioning of justice.

The meeting also discussed what the DP calls the "Soros agenda" in Albania, which the opposition claims has influenced the country's political and institutional developments.

The elections were another important point of discussion. DP representatives denounced the use of illegal money, the misuse of public administration, and the links between politics and organized crime, describing these factors as elements that distort the will of the voters.

The DP emphasized that Albania needs a profound political and institutional change, with more accountability, separation and balance of powers, political competition, and integrity of electoral processes.

For his part, Paulo Zampolli expressed his willingness to cooperate closely with the Albanian opposition and to assist Albania in its democratic processes.

In conclusion, the Democratic Party declared that it will continue to support, according to it, the protection of democracy, the rule of law and national interest, as well as the strengthening of strategic relations with the United States and allies.
