Generally, breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day.
But it seems that its absence may hide serious risks for our heart health. The tendency to skip breakfast, whether due to intermittent fasting or for reasons of calorie restriction, seems not to be as harmless as we thought.
A new study, published in Communications Medicine and based on data from 3,000 British adults, has shown that for every hour late in eating breakfast, the risk of death within the next decade increases by 10%.
Also, another study involving over 6,500 people, published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, showed that those who never eat breakfast are 75% more likely to die early and twice as likely to die from heart disease.
