Former MP, journalist and writer Ben Blushi will be in Elbasan today for the presentation of his newest novel, "I am Muslim". The literary activity is also accompanied by a message published by him on social networks, where he brings back to attention the connection with the city and previous tense episodes during his public presentations.

Blushi recalls that in 2013 he led the Socialist Party list in Elbasan, emphasizing that some of the concerns he raised then, according to him, were reflected over time in subsequent developments in the city. He adds that despite this history, his return is not accompanied by any feeling of anger, but by the desire to meet with friends and discuss literature and current affairs.

In his message, the writer also emphasizes that he hopes that the participants in the meeting will not be influenced by pressure or intimidation, inviting citizens to freely participate in the activity organized at 18:00 PM at the "Skampa" hotel.

He presents the meeting as an open conversation about his novel "I am a Muslim," a work that has sparked public debate, but also as an opportunity to discuss current developments in the country.

Blushi also recalls previous periods when, according to him, his activities in Elbasan were accompanied by tensions and controversy, including episodes in 2016 during a political meeting, where there were strong reactions towards him in the hall. He has mentioned earlier that he considered those moments as a “trial” not only towards him, but also towards his literary work. According to him, today the situation is different and his books circulate freely, while the return to Elbasan this time is exclusively related to literature and the promotion of the new novel.
