The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held a press conference, where he harshly criticized the government and the censorship that, according to him, has engulfed the Albanian media. Berisha emphasized that Albania is experiencing an unprecedented enthusiasm, facing two campaigns: one of free citizens and another of supporters of the government, who, according to him, are forced to hear things they do not want to hear.

He added that many television debates have been canceled due to the lack of Socialist Party candidates, describing this as a subordination of free media to the dictates of Edi Rama and his team.

Berisha called for the development of debates in the media with opposition representatives, who are willing to respond to invitations and give their opinions.

Berisha: An enthusiasm has erupted that Albania has not known for decades. You have two campaigns in front of you, one electrified by free citizens, the other by wage earners forced to listen to perhaps everything they did not want to hear. From a man who has lost all logic, standards and ethics and goes from one banality to another.
What is problematic is the wild censorship of the media towards the opposition for the sake of the government, i.e. censorship dictated by the government. The debate studios have canceled a series of debates on the pretext that the SP candidates are not coming. This is an inconceivable submission of the free media to the dictates of Rama and his incriminated team that cannot be brought to light, therefore in the studio due to the terrible baggage it has, connections to crime, etc.
My call is that the media should not close the debates but rather hold them with journalists and representatives of the opposition who are willing to respond to their invitations.
