The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, during the National Security Conference, stated that no product should be allowed in Albania that is not marketed in at least two European Union countries. According to him, this is a necessary measure to guarantee high standards and protect the health of citizens.
Berisha expressed his commitment to a liberalized and fair market, emphasizing that rigorous product control is vital. He criticized the current situation in the health sector, emphasizing that medical equipment in public hospitals is deliberately not repaired, to force citizens to turn to the private sector.
He further promised to establish modern state laboratories and create functional control points for food and pharmaceutical products, which today, according to him, exist only on paper. He stressed the importance of cooperation with prestigious international agencies to increase the reliability and quality of control systems.
Berisha said that security must be guaranteed for both imports and exports, considering the standard as the foundation for increasing the competitiveness of Albanian products in the European market.
At the end of his speech, Berisha also criticized the current approach to tourism and corruption, promising a "zero tolerance" fight against corruption and a strategy to make the "Made in Albania" label a symbol of national pride and guaranteed quality.
DP leader Sali Berisha at the National Security Conference: No product should be accepted in Albania that is not traded in at least 2 EU countries. We are for market liberalization. Even medicine is a mess. Equipment is not regulated by the state, because they want citizens to go to the private sector. The state will have modern laboratories. There will be appropriate product control points, which today formally exist or do not exist. Twinning with prestigious agencies is very important. Security is needed for imports, but also for exports. These and tourism failed spectacularly. We will wage war with zero tolerance against corruption. Made in Albania will be our national pride.
