Korça has become the epicenter of Easter celebrations, where thousands of citizens and tourists, this Friday, became part of one of the most important rites of the Orthodox faith, the passage under the epitaph.

The epitaphs of the city's six churches were united in front of the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ, to then continue in a procession along the main streets of Korça. Under the sounds of liturgical songs and prayers, believers closely followed this sacred ritual.

The procession was led by the Metropolitan of Korça, His Grace Anastasi, as believers commemorated Good Friday, or as it is otherwise known, "Black Friday", a day that symbolizes the sacrifice and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

The peak of the celebrations is reached on Saturday night, when believers gather in the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ to receive the holy light through candles, a symbol of resurrection and hope.

Meanwhile, the celebrations in Korça conclude on Sunday with the traditional lunch, an important moment for Korça families and not only, who celebrate this holy day together.
