Man.City, one of the favorites in this edition of the Champions League, gave a big bluff in the 7th round of the League Phase. Pep Guardiola's "Citizens" suffered a heavy 3-1 defeat away to Bodo/Glimt.

The Norwegians surprised them in the first half, where within two minutes, Hogh scored a “double” of goals. In the 2nd minute, the home team recovered a ball in midfield, catching the Man.City defense off guard, with Hogh heading the ball past goalkeeper Donnarumma at the far post. Two minutes later, in almost the same form, Bodo/Glimt hit Man.City again with a quick counterattack, again finished with great class by Hogh.

Man.City were unknown on the field, with Pep Guardiola's team doing little to get back into the game. Not only that, but in the 58th minute Hauge scored the third goal with a fantastic shot. The English created the illusion that they could get back into the game, where two minutes later, Cherki with a precise shot from distance narrowed the score to 3-1.

To complicate this transfer even more for Pep Guardiola, Rodri thought, with the Spanish midfielder being punished with two yellow cards within two minutes, leaving Man.City with 10 men. The result remained unchanged until the end, with Man.City provisionally seeing itself in 7th place with 13 points. Pep Guardiola did not take this defeat well, with the Man.City coach justifying himself with the fact that he did not have players like Doku or Savinho available.:

"I don't agree with the fact that we played badly. We were missing important players like Doku or Savinho, we weren't good at one-on-one play. Bodo is an organized team, I compliment them. I have the feeling that in this match we had the details against us," said Guardiola.
