The women's national team has achieved another historic success, securing qualification for the play-off phase of the "Brazil 2027" World Cup for the first time. An achievement that confirms the continuous progress of the red and black team and the work done over the years by the Federation, the technical staff and the Albanian footballers.

The team led by Armir Grima will learn on June 18, at 12:00, the name of the opposing team for the first round of the play-offs, a phase that could bring Albania even closer to the great dream of a historic qualification for the World Cup, as well as the possible rival for the second round of the play-offs, which secures a place in the 2027 World Cup.

According to the competition format, the teams ranked second and third in the League B groups will face the teams ranked last in the League A groups and the winning teams of the League B groups.

Albania's potential opponents are:

– Slovenia, Poland, Serbia and Ukraine (teams ranked in the bottom places of League A groups)

– Switzerland, Portugal, Scotland and Wales (League B group winners).

The draw on June 18 will determine the next journey of the red and black girls, who have already entered the history of Albanian football with this first qualification to the play-off phase of a World Championship.

As per the format, Albania will play the first leg at home and the return leg away. The full match schedule will be announced after the draw.
