The Epstein scandal has rocked Britain. The British Prime Minister's Chief of Staff, McSweeney, announced his resignation today. While Downing Street confirmed that Jill Cuthbertson and Vidhya Alakeson have been appointed as interim chiefs of staff to Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
According to Sky News, the two were joint deputies to Morgan McSweeney, before he resigned, who claimed full responsibility for advising the prime minister to appoint Peter Mandelson as US ambassador last year. The latter's links to Jeffrey Epstein were revealed.
"The decision to appoint Peter Mandelson was wrong. He has damaged our party, our country and faith in politics itself. When asked, I advised the Prime Minister to make that appointment and I take full responsibility for that advice," the response said.
