British passengers and crew from a cruise ship affected by a hantavirus outbreak will be placed in a hospital in northwest England for initial isolation after their return home, British health authorities have announced.
The MV Hondius ship is expected to arrive on the Spanish island of Tenerife on Sunday morning, after which the 22 British nationals will return home, Reuters reports.
Earlier, Spain said the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Belgium, Ireland and other countries had confirmed they would send planes to evacuate their citizens following the hantavirus outbreak.
