Britney Spears' sons Sean Preston Federline and Jaden James Federline have reportedly started using the last name "Spears," dropping their father's last name, Kevin Federline. However, according to Us Weekly, the change has not yet been formalized in official documents.
The development comes at a significant time for the family, just days after the singer shared rare photos of her two sons on Instagram, marking a public reunion after years apart. In the images, they are seen smiling on a boat, with Spears in the center. Britney Spears became a mother in 2005 and 2006 during her marriage to Kevin Federline, from whom she divorced in 2007. For several years, the relationship with the boys was frosty, especially after they moved to Hawaii in 2023 with their father.
Recently, they have returned to California and the relationship between them has improved significantly. Sources close to the family say that the boys are standing by their mother and supporting her, even after the recent incidents she has experienced. "The children are growing up and love their mother in their lives. Britney is very happy and feels grateful to have her by their side," a source told the media.
Another source added that getting closer to the boys has had a direct impact on the singer's emotional state: "They want the best for her and believe this relationship will help her. She is noticeably happier now that she has them in her life."
