Caroline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, will leave her role at the end of August, Donald Trump announced.
The president said Wednesday that Leavitt would resign in order to spend more time with her family.
"Caroline will now be one of my top outside advisors and an influential voice within the Republican Party as we work to challenge history and ultimately win the Midterm Elections," Trump wrote in a post on social media.
Leavitt has been the only White House press secretary during Trump's second presidential term, although she took maternity leave from April to July.
