Minister Blendi Gonxhja has used harsh language while reporting to the Laws Committee, while insulting the protesters by calling them "a bunch of fools."
"I am not a bread and butter protester, but I have taken stones and bullets. We belong to a time when we risked our lives and families for freedom. A bunch of fools throwing stones and tiles from the entrance to the Parliament... The people said: 'Get out of the way, fool'," Gonxha said.
The serious statements refer to citizens who have been protesting for 52 days in what has been considered a civic revolution, whose main demand is the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
