Former Democratic Party MP, Ervin Salianji, has reacted regarding the plans for the development of the Palace of Congresses area, accusing the government of continuing to make public assets available to private interests.

In a post on social media, Salianji states that the construction of another tower is being proposed on one of the most coveted public properties in the country, while according to him, there is a lack of transparency and public debate.

Salianji raises a series of questions about the project's beneficiaries, development conditions, and concrete benefits for citizens. He also criticizes the opposition's silence on the issue, publicly asking where the leader of the Democratic Party, , stands in the face of this project.

According to the former Democratic MP, public property is being treated as a "bargaining currency" for political and private interests, while the citizen protests taking place in the country are a reaction to this model of governance. He emphasizes that public assets belong to Albanian citizens and should not be turned into an object of political bargaining.

There is almost no public asset left that this government has not turned into a bargaining chip for clientelistic and political gain!
Today it is the turn of the Palace of Congresses. In the heart of Tirana, on one of the most coveted public properties in the country, another tower is proposed. And as always, transparency is lacking, while the public's questions remain unanswered.
Who benefits? Under what conditions? What does the Albanian citizen really gain? Why is there no public debate about a property that belongs to all Albanians?
Louder than the sound of concrete is silence. The silence of those who should have been on the front lines of protecting the public interest, starting from the leadership of the DP! Where is Sali Berisha during this period? With Rama or against Rama? Silence while claiming to still be an alternative!
When no objection is heard for such a strategic property, citizens have the right to ask: are we dealing with a real political clash or a silent consensus when it comes to bargaining with public property?
The same scheme, the same model. Public land, public spaces, and citizens' assets are made available to political and private interests, while the public is served slogans for development.
The government behaves as if it owns Albania, when in fact it is only a temporary administrator of assets belonging to Albanians.
A serious government builds and protects public spaces. A worn-out government sells them piece by piece. Public property is not loot. It is not a currency of exchange. It is not a trophy of power. It is the wealth of Albanian citizens.
Citizens are protesting to overthrow this system! And I've been saying this in city halls and squares for months!
