The story covered today on the show "With an Open Heart" centered on the case of a prisoner who has been in detention for five months, after being accused of domestic violence by his children.

His wife, in a live chat with the show's moderator and author, Evis Ahmeti, has told her version of the incident and denied that her husband has exercised violence against her. According to her, it all started on April 3, during a family party at a bar where one of the boys worked as a waiter.

The woman says that her husband had consumed several beers and was intoxicated, and then an argument broke out between the couple and their son. She says that during the conflict, her husband put his hand over her mouth and asked her not to speak.

According to her account, the son called the police, stating that his father was beating his mother.

The police arrived at the bar and took her husband, while the woman says she asked the officers not to arrest him, as according to her he was just drunk. She claims that the situation then escalated even further and that the children were involved in denouncing their father.

"April 3 was Easter, I took my daughter and we went to celebrate as a family. After my husband drank 3-4 glasses, the son started saying 'don't drink anymore' and the situation was getting worse. I was protecting the son, since we were in a bar, in a public place, and the husband put his hand over my mouth, telling me 'don't talk'," the woman confessed.

She claims that the eldest son called the police and reported his father, and then, according to her, the other children were forced to file complaints as well.

"The boy called the police and said 'dad is beating mom'. The police came to take the man and I begged them not to take him, because he was just a little drunk. The boy filed a complaint in my name, forcing the 17-year-old boy to file a complaint as well. The police threatened me, forcibly grabbed my hands. No one told me to go to the forensics, but I didn't have any signs of violence, nothing," she said.

According to the woman, her husband has been in detention for five months and is awaiting trial.

The woman also stated that she has been married to him for 23 years and that, despite the conflict that occurred that day, the relationship between them has been good.
