An Albanian, considered very dangerous, has been arrested by Greek authorities in an operation carried out in Thermo, in the Aitoloakarnania region. According to the police, this is an Albanian citizen who was involved in the spectacular 2019 escape from the Migration Service in Athens. At that time, he and three accomplices had threatened officers with sharp objects and improvised weapons, had taken control of a police car and had opened fire on law enforcement, fortunately without causing any casualties.

Dog arrest in the Rentis area, he was convicted and imprisoned, but during a leave he decided to return to criminal activity. Most recently, in collaboration with two men and a woman, he attempted to rob a person in the Thermos area. The perpetrators had set up a barricade near the victim's apartment and attacked him, but the plan failed after the victim screamed, alarming the residents of the area.

While leaving, the perpetrators fired automatic weapons into the air and fled the scene. After intensive investigations, the police managed to identify the vehicle and the Airbnb apartment where they were staying. In the intervention operation, all suspects were arrested. Among them were two other Albanians, who escaped from the Kassavetia Rural Detention Center in early January 2025.

During the search of the apartment, authorities seized a Kalashnikov-type combat weapon, equipped with two connected magazines, containing a total of 57 7.62 mm caliber cartridges. Investigations are ongoing to fully uncover the criminal activity of the group and possible links to other events.
