The circumstances of the accident resulting in the death of a 32-year-old man near the village of Pojskë, on the Pogradec-Qafë Thanë road axis, have been clarified.
According to information obtained from the investigations, the young man, Amarildo Islamaj, 32 years old, originally from Vlora, is suspected of having stolen the vehicle in which he was involved in the fatal accident.
Police sources indicate that the vehicle was stolen in the village of Lëneshnica, after the keys were left inside the vehicle. After the theft, the 32-year-old sped away, but a few minutes later was involved in an accident on the Pogradec-Qafë Thanë road.
The collision proved fatal for the young man, who suffered serious injuries and was unable to survive, despite medical intervention at the hospital.
The Pogradec Police Station has also questioned the owner of the vehicle, who had previously reported the vehicle stolen. Preliminary investigations show that the 32-year-old is the suspected perpetrator of the theft of the vehicle that was later involved in the accident.
