New details have emerged from the Sunday evening assassination attempt in Rrilë, Lezha.
According to sources, it is learned that 21-year-old Merando Nikulaj, the target of the assassination, went to Berberhane, in the company of general patrol officer Besart Kovaçi, detained for failing to report a crime.
There were 15 bullets in the policeman's gun and 5 bullets were found in the pistol, so he fired 10 times.
From the verifications of the investigative team at the scene, a third weapon is also suspected, for which investigations have begun.
It is suspected that Nikulaj was injured, but despite searches and private clinics, he was not found, thus being declared wanted by the police for questioning regarding today's incident.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening in the Rrila area of Lezha, where a barbershop was shot with a barrage of bullets, leaving its owner, 30-year-old Sokol Daci, injured.
16 pistol cartridges were found inside the building, of which 5 were in the comb and 10 were fired, suspected to belong to the weapon used by the police officer.
Another shell casing has raised suspicions of the use of a second weapon from inside the premises, making the situation similar to an armed clash. The area around the barbershop has practically become a field of fire.
Security cameras have recorded two vehicles, an "Audi" and a "Passat", which stop near the salon. 7 people get out of them, two of whom are armed with Kalashnikovs. Over 30 bullets were fired in the direction of the barbershop, three of which wounded Sokol Daci.
Police suspect that Merando Nikulaj may have been injured, as he is seen struggling to escape in the footage. So far, he has not been brought in for questioning, while searches are being conducted at homes and businesses to locate him.
Investigations continue to fully uncover the incident, identify the perpetrators, and clarify the role of each person involved.
