Mark Finlay, American international strategic advisor on Geopolitics, invited to News24 said that Albania is a country that seeks change. He said he is impressed by the protests.
"Albania needs change and the progress that needs to be made. I have met men and women who share the view that there needs to be change in the country. There needs to be progress. I am impressed that there have been sustained, peaceful protests against the government, demanding change, there are 100 days of protests this summer. I am impressed by the protests. I hope to be more informed, so that when I return to the US, I can say what I saw in Tirana," said Finlay.
Mark Finlay added that he thinks the protest stems from a lack of progress.
"I think the protest is about the lack of progress. This is not so much about Zvërnec or Sazanit, but about opportunities, because youth want to see economic opportunities. We want to see people with homes that they own, are happy and want to stay in their homeland."
"I hope there will be investments, that jobs will grow, that the economy will grow and that people will have the opportunity to raise children in Albania," Finlay declared.
