The protest of the residents of Divjaka has entered its ninth day today, as citizens continue to gather every evening in the square against the new territorial reform project. The main demand of the protesters is that the Municipality of Divjaka not be dissolved and not merged with Lushnja, as foreseen in the reform project.

Residents argue that Divjaka meets the historical, geographical and economic parameters to continue functioning as a separate municipality. According to them, merging the institution would bring difficulties in receiving services, as citizens would have to travel further to resolve administrative issues. Another concern raised by them is related to the preservation of Divjaka's identity as a city, which the protesters say would be lost in the event of a merger with Lushnja.

At the end of the protest, citizens marched like every evening on the main streets of the city, taking care not to impede the free movement of vehicles and citizens. Another demand was added to today's protest: citizens demand that Divjaka be represented by Divjaka candidates in the upcoming elections, arguing that representatives should be residents and have direct knowledge of the problems of the area.
