Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the city of Novosibirsk on Tuesday, where authorities imposed tight security measures due to fears of Ukrainian drone attacks.
According to local media, during his visit, residents were asked to avoid going out on the streets during the presidential motorcade's passage, not to stand near windows, and not to use electronic or optical devices.
At Novosibirsk State University, movement on campus was also restricted, while police were deployed along the route of the motorcade, with officers positioned approximately every 50 meters.

The authorities also undertook a series of interventions to improve the city's image, repairing streets, sidewalks, and building facades.
On the morning of Putin's visit, a fire broke out in a private apartment in central Novosibirsk, sending a huge plume of smoke into the air. Firefighters, ambulances and police arrived at the scene.

The visit to Novosibirsk was one of Putin's last few trips to Russian regions, at a time when Ukrainian drone attacks inside Russian territory have increased. Media reports also say that concerns about the Russian president's security have affected the way his trips are organized.
