The Drita team has mathematically secured the Kosovo champion title for the 2025/26 edition, three rounds before the end of the championship, after a 2:0 victory over direct rival Balkan in the match of the 33rd week of the AlbiMall Super League.
At the synthetic grass stadium in Gjilan, Drita dominated in the decisive moments and sealed the triumph thanks to goals from Besnik Krasniqi and Abdoul Karim Dantes. With this success, the Gjilan team defends the title won last season and brings the number of championship trophies in the club's history to five.
Drita entered the final phase of the championship in a close race with Balkan, but the results of the last few weeks made the difference. The white and blue team now lead with 66 points, a full 11 more than the orange and black team, securing an elusive lead with three rounds to go.
This is the fifth championship trophy for Drita, after those won in the 2002/03, 2017/18, 2019/20 and 2024/25 editions. At the same time, this success also marks the fifth championship title in the career of coach Zekirija Ramadani, who had previously triumphed with Trepça '89, Feronikeli, Prishtina and now twice with Drita.
In addition to the championship title, Drita has secured participation in the first qualifying phase of the UEFA Champions League. Last season, the team from Gjilan reached the knockout phase of the UEFA Conference League, proving their potential in the European arena.
In the other match that took place today as part of week 33, Drenica scored an important victory in the race for survival, defeating Gjilan with a score of 2:1 at the "Bajram Aliu" stadium in Skenderaj.
Kreshnik Uka gave the home team the lead in the 30th minute, a goal confirmed after a VAR review by referee Alban Shala. Just seven minutes later, Eneid Kodra doubled Drenica's advantage, while Blerind Morina scored for the visitors in the second half. With this victory, Drenica reaches 44 points and is now well on its way to securing its place in the elite of Kosovo football.
