A six-month-old baby has died on the outskirts of Moscow after the remains of a downed drone fell on a private home overnight, Russian authorities said. According to the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, the baby was pulled alive from the rubble along with another child and two adults, but died on the way to hospital.
Meanwhile, another person was killed in the Russian region of Belgorod as a result of a Ukrainian drone attack, while a 61-year-old woman lost her life in the Tver region after the remains of a downed drone fell on her house.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukrainian forces had struck the Dubna satellite communications center in the Moscow region for the second time in a week. According to Zelensky, the facility, located more than 1,300 kilometers from the border with Ukraine, is used by the Russian military for reconnaissance and coordination of military operations in Ukraine.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also confirmed that the center had been targeted earlier this week. The Kremlin, on the other hand, has not confirmed the attack on the communications center. Governor Vorobyov said only that a drone hit an administrative building in the city of Dubna, without reporting any casualties.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said air defense systems shot down 419 drones overnight. Fighting in Ukraine is also continuing. According to local authorities, at least two people were killed and 15 others were injured after Russian airstrikes in the city of Zaporizhia. Regional governor Ivan Fedorov said Russian forces hit the city with seven guided bombs in about 90 minutes, causing casualties and extensive material damage.
