A new wave of air strikes has escalated the clashes between Ukraine and Russia, with powerful strikes from both sides.
In Kiev, a market was engulfed in flames after a Russian attack, while several people were killed and others injured in various cities in Ukraine. According to reports, the fire caused significant damage to the market, while a Ukrainian trader told the BBC that she lost goods worth about 500 hryvnia.
At the same time, Russia faced one of the most massive drone attacks carried out by Ukraine in the Moscow region. Russian authorities said hundreds of drones were headed towards the capital and surrounding areas, while air defenses claimed to have shot down a large number of them.
One of the main targets was a giant logistics center of the online sales company Wildberries, in the Podolsk area.
The warehouse was engulfed in a huge fire after the drone strike. According to Russian authorities, an 83-year-old man was killed in Podolsk, and several people were injured.
Ukraine's Defense Ministry said the latest attacks have knocked out seven of Wildberries' ten largest logistics centers in Russia. The company, often referred to as the "Amazon of Russia," has been a recurring target of Ukrainian attacks, which Kiev also links to logistics supporting the Russian war effort.
On the other hand, Russian attacks on Ukraine have caused casualties and damage in several cities. In Kryvyi Rih, Sumy and Kiev, there have been reports of deaths and injuries, while industrial and infrastructure targets have been damaged.
The escalation of airstrikes shows that drone warfare is extending deeper into the territory of both countries, while logistical and economic objectives are becoming an important part of Kiev's strategy.
