Durrës Traffic Police have arrested six people for drunk driving and attempted corruption against police officers.

According to the police report, during the monitoring on “Petrit Llaftiu” Street and “Taulantia” Street, two vehicles were stopped for performing dangerous maneuvers. The two drivers, NN and HM, attempted to bribe the police officers by offering them money to avoid the alcohol test and arrest. The alcohol test revealed that NN was driving the vehicle with 1.62 mg/l, while HM was with 1.57 mg/l.

Also arrested over the weekend were DM, with 1.22 mg/l, and D. Ç., with 2.21 mg/l, after being caught driving while intoxicated. Another driver, RD, a resident of Durrës, was arrested for driving without a license on “Hysen Kertusha” street.

The investigative materials have been referred to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further action for the criminal offenses of "Irregular Driving" and "Active Corruption of Persons Exercising Public Functions".
