The European Union is planning to organize a high-level meeting between Kosovo and Serbia, as soon as the necessary political conditions for its development are created.

One of Brussels' main demands is that the parties participate without setting preconditions for sitting at the dialogue table.

"The EU High Representative will convene a high-level dialogue meeting between Kosovo and Serbia as soon as circumstances allow. We expect leaders of both sides to participate without preconditions," a European Union response said, as reported by media in Kosovo.

The focus of this meeting is expected to be several important issues of dialogue, including unblocking Kosovo's membership in international organizations.

Brussels' reaction came after statements by Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric, who a few days ago stated that Serbia had lobbied against Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe during the meeting of foreign ministers of this organization in Chisinau, Moldova.

The EU reiterated that the implementation of the agreements reached remains essential for the European path of both countries.

"The full implementation of all previous agreements, including the Ohrid Agreement, is a condition for both Kosovo and Serbia to advance on their path towards the European Union," the response further states.

Brussels also recalled that, according to Article 4 of the Ohrid Agreement, Serbia has pledged not to oppose Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe.
