Ecuador's President, Daniel Noboa, has declared a state of emergency in ten provinces and three municipalities of the country for 60 days.

The regime provides for the suspension of a number of constitutional guarantees, including protection from apartment searches and inspection of correspondence.

Security forces have the right to immediately conduct checks if they have information about the presence of members of organized armed groups or criminal organizations in buildings.

In addition, law enforcement agencies are authorized to collect and analyze information necessary to prevent and neutralize threats. Authorities can also temporarily seize illegal goods and services if necessary to ensure security.

The document notes that recently, the number of armed attacks and other crimes related to the activities of organized crime groups in Ecuador has increased significantly. According to the authorities, murders, extortion, kidnappings, robberies and illegal drug trafficking continue to disrupt the social situation and negatively affect the country's economic activity.
