On the 47th day of the popular revolt in front of the government headquarters, the speeches of the activists continued with quite harsh tones towards the entire political class that has governed the country during these decades of pluralism. Present on the boulevard, the activist Sidorela Vatnikaj gave a strong speech, where she demanded the end of the transition and an in-depth investigation into Prime Minister Edi Rama and Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.
According to Vatnikaj, this square has maintained an unwavering stance in the face of what she called a uniquely corrupt political class, which has only changed sides but never relinquished power.
The activist stated that the head of government should not be treated simply as a prime minister by the justice system, but as the leader of a genuine criminal structure.
"This square has clearly shown its stance towards the 36-year-old corrupt political class. We have been here every day to say that we are here to end the Albanian transition with a single corrupt political class, which has only changed sides, but has never relinquished power! Edi Rama should be investigated as the head of a criminal organization and not as the Prime Minister of Albania!" Vatnikaj declared in front of the protesters.
She further focused on the protest's relationship with the new justice bodies, emphasizing that citizens' support for SPAK and GJKKO always comes with the demand for maximum accountability and without any compromise towards high-ranking officials.
"We have been and are in support of the work of SPAK and GJKKO, but not with closed eyes, but with a demand: Investigate Rama, arrest Balluku! Investigate all the corrupt, those who have put their hands in our pockets for 36 years!" the activist concluded her speech amidst the cheers of hundreds of citizens on the boulevard.
