The leader of "Albania Becomes", Adriatik Lapaj, has presented on social networks a series of proposals for changing the electoral system in the country, emphasizing the need for a profound reform that, according to him, increases the representation and credibility of the process.

Lapaj proposes a national proportional system with open lists and pre-electoral coalitions, arguing that this would ensure equality of votes across the territory and fairer representation in the Assembly.

According to him, the national proportional representation system ensures that "the vote has equal value in every corner of the homeland," while MPs will bear national and not just regional responsibilities.

He also emphasizes the importance of open lists, considering this as a way to give citizens the right to choose their own representatives and to avoid, as he puts it, impositions by party leaders.

Another proposed point is the creation of pre-election coalitions, which according to Lapaj would help maximize votes and cooperation between political forces without losing their identity.

Regarding electoral administration, he calls for depoliticization of commissions at the CEAZ level, including freelance professionals such as lawyers, notaries and psychologists selected by lottery, to increase the credibility of the process.

Lapaj also proposes setting a 4% threshold for entry into the Assembly, considering it a mechanism that maintains stability and avoids extreme political fragmentation.

As for the number of MPs, he speaks out against its reduction from 140, arguing that this does not bring real savings and, on the contrary, increases the concentration of power and weakens the electoral race.
