Legendary actor and director Clint Eastwood appears to have retired from active film directing, according to statements from his son, Kyle Eastwood, thus marking an important moment in the history of world cinema.

The news was revealed during an interview with Kyle Eastwood for a French media outlet, where he spoke about his relationship and collaborations with his father over the years. According to him, Clint Eastwood has now retired from active filmmaking, although there has been no official announcement from the actor himself or from the studios he worked with. "I have many fond memories of working with him. He is now retired... I was very lucky to have worked with him on several films," Kyle Eastwood said during the interview.

Clint Eastwood, who recently turned 96, is considered one of Hollywood's most iconic figures. He first rose to global fame through Sergio Leone's westerns, before cementing his status as a major star with his role as Inspector Harry Callahan in the "Dirty Harry" series.

He then went on to build a successful career as a director, producing acclaimed films such as Unforgiven, Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, Gran Torino and American Sniper. Two of them, Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby, were awarded the Academy Award for Best Picture, while Eastwood himself has won two Academy Awards for Best Director.
