Britain has been rocked by the release of the Epstein documents, and the involvement of officials in the scandal. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has been under pressure for days, with calls for his resignation.

Starmer gave a speech at a meeting of the Parliamentary Labour Party in the Houses of Parliament.

"Every battle I've fought, I've won," the prime minister told his MPs, explaining that he would not resign. "I've had critics every step of the way, and I still have them now. But I will tell you this, having fought so hard for the opportunity to change our country, I am not prepared to give up my mandate and my responsibility to my country, or to plunge us into chaos, as others have done," he said.
