The heads of state discussed bilateral relations between Turkey and the United States, as well as regional and global developments.
Erdogan said that Turkey is closely following the events in Syria and that the unity, integrity and territorial integrity of this country are important to Turkey.
The fight against ISIS and the situation of ISIS members in Syrian prisons were also discussed during the call.
Erdogan said that a peaceful Syria, free from terrorism and developing in all aspects, would contribute to the stability of the region.
The Turkish president stated that efforts to establish peace in Gaza are ongoing and that Ankara will continue to act in coordination with the United States on this issue.
Erdogan thanked Trump for the invitation to the Gaza Peace Council.
Earlier, Trump said he highly appreciated Erdogan's policies and would have an important phone call with him.
