SP MP, Erion Braçe, has spoken about his ambition to run in the upcoming local elections for the leadership of the Municipality of Tirana.
Guest on the show "This Week" on News24, Braçe said that citizens should support him because of the work he has done as a deputy in Tirana, emphasizing that he has been close to the people and problems of his area.
"People should vote for me because I am a socialist and because of the test I took a year ago in Tirana," he declared.
Braçe said that his candidacy as MP in Unit 5 was an important challenge, as according to him that area had been left without real representation for years.
"I became an MP in Unit 5 in Tirana, which has not had any MPs for years. That area was without MPs," he said.
The socialist MP added that today the residents of the area know him and have seen him near them in their daily lives.
"In Unit 5, I don't believe there is anyone who can say that they don't know the MP, or that they haven't seen him in the neighborhood and haven't heard him talk about the problems of the area," said Braçe.
He emphasized that he feels "proven" politically and not an inexperienced candidate, while the race for the Municipality of Tirana is expected to bring strong rivalries within the Socialists.
Earlier, Prime Minister Edi Rama expressed public support for Ogerta Manastirliu as a potential name for the upcoming race for the leadership of the capital.
