The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, celebrated his birthday in prison, a birthday he says is "unusual".
Veliaj expresses gratitude to his supporters and says that despite the situation he finds himself in, he will "never forget" the friends of the difficult days.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking care of my mother, wife, and little son over the past 10 months.
This has been an absurd year, but I discovered friends from the hard days that I will never forget!
