"The family members know the truth, they also know who executed Ervis Martinaj!", declared journalist Klodiana Lala on the show "Kjo Javë" with Nisida Tufa on News24.

Regarding the process in the Special Court, Lala said that it has to do with seized assets more than a criminal process, while she states that some of the assets will be released at the end of the trial, as they were from legal sources.

"Mustafa Martinaj testified in the Special Court. In fact, the process is about assets, it is not about a criminal process; it is about the SPAK decision to seize assets. And Mr. Martinaj claimed that his assets, due to his almost 30-year business activity and the fact that he worked as a bank director, had various exclusives, worked as a money changer and so on, so he had currency exchange points. He claimed that his assets derive from legal sources. And I believe that some of the assets of the Martinaj family, by the end of the process, will be released. Certainly, a part, which is suspected of being assets acquired from the criminal activity of Ervis Martinaj, although he does not have a final decision and his fate now remains a mystery, will remain seized. So this is my position in relation to this issue.

What impressed me is that for the first time in a court the Martinaj family articulated that Ervis Martinaj is no longer alive. In fact, you know, I was in two minds. I exclusively reported that news in News24, that is, the family's report that he was missing. I was ambivalent because it often happens that organized crime bosses, because of the problems they have, because of the opponents they have, choose to live such a life or a voluntary disappearance. The fact that after these... after much research, after the investment of foreign partners, Ervis Martinaj has not been found and there is no sign of him, means that I also believe that yes, he could have been kidnapped and killed", she said.

The journalist also made a brief profile of Martinaj, who she said was not someone who simply came from the world of crime and rose "through the ranks", but was a man educated abroad and who came from an established family.

"Despite the fact that Ervis Martinaj was deeply involved in organized crime, was an exponent of organized crime and had very strong ties to the criminal world, in fact his family is one of the elite families in the country. They come from Montenegro, a family with many traditions, very determined, tough, supporters of the Democratic Party. This must be said, there is nothing wrong in the end with them admitting this publicly. They had many businesses, they were located in the Fushë-Kuqe area.

Ervis himself, as his father said, was a student in Italy. He couldn't finish his studies because he returned because of his sisters and didn't graduate, but he finished almost the entire cycle. So he wasn't someone who came from the world of crime and rose up. So Ervis Martinaj was the opposite: he came from a wealthy family and left because he got involved in gambling, and he had these very strong problems and clashes. I think the father knows the truth about his son. I think the family also knows the executioner," she said.

Lala also revealed that Jeton Lami visited Martinaj's parents, which was kept secret from them.

"Jeton Lami was in their family before he was arrested. This has not been accepted by the family, perhaps it will never be accepted. They have not spoken publicly. I have requested interviews from them, they have not accepted. I think Jeton Lami knows the truth. Jeton Lami is the person who also met with Brilant Martinaj before Brilant and his two friends were executed and initially they did not suspect, but then the family suspected and I think they have privately investigated the fate of Ervis Martinaj. And the family is convinced that Ervis Martinaj was killed, they are simply unable to find the body. I believe that the Martinaj family may have much more information than what they have given to the authorities, and they are very clear about where they got it from and who the criminal groups are because we are talking about several groups," he said.
