United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is "deeply concerned" by the ongoing escalation in the Middle East, including new attacks between the US and Iran, his spokesman said, BBC reports.
Guterres calls on the parties to return to "full implementation of the ceasefire" and respect obligations under international law to protect civilians.
His spokesman adds that he calls on the US and Iran to "redouble their efforts for a peaceful, comprehensive and lasting agreement" for regional and international peace.
