Roma coach Gasperini appeared in a press conference before the match against Celtic in the Europa League.
"We have never been so productive all year and maybe it is a structural problem. We played well in general, but against Napoli and Cagliari we created few dangerous situations. This is never a problem for a single individual. We have to perform better as a team to become more dangerous," explained Gasperini on the eve of the match against the Scots.
"Physically, we are certainly not tired. In recent games, we have been less effective than in previous ones, but I am having a hard time understanding what kind of fatigue we have. Physically and athletically, the team is pushing hard until the end."
Evan Ferguson's performances are attracting a lot of attention, with the Irishman continuing to struggle to score. Despite this, Gasperini seems determined to continue to have faith in the player: "There is no liking or disliking for players, it's the performances. Ferguson has had many opportunities. Should we wait for him? Of course, he is a young player. He can play better, not so much technically. Hermoso is a prime example, his qualities have allowed him to become a cornerstone of this team. Not only his technical skills, but also his weight in the dressing room. I hope the same goes for Ferguson, he is very young and has been out of the field for a year. What we haven't been able to get out of him so far, maybe he can do later."
The aim is also for Paulo Dybala to recover fully, enough so that the Argentine can return to play for ninety minutes against Celtic, as Gasperini stressed: "When a player recovers, he is fit to play. Dybala had the flu, but he trained. It could be a temporary problem, but all players can play 90 minutes."
