Two Albanian brothers, persons with criminal records in Greece, have been arrested as suspected perpetrators of the explosion with explosives at the “Jacky.O” discotheque on Michalakopoulou Street in Athens, on the evening of October 7, 2025. Blerim Buci, 41, and Besmir Buci, 32, both from Tirana, were arrested by the Greek police. In addition to the charge of the explosion with explosives, an arrest warrant was also active against them for violating the restrictive conditions of residence, robbery, and violating weapons laws.

In more detail, it was discovered that after parking a vehicle near the disco, 32-year-old Besmir Buci approached the object on foot and then placed and activated the improvised explosive device. Then, he got back into the vehicle, where 41-year-old Blerim Buci was waiting for him, and they left together. It was also found that the vehicle used by the perpetrators of the act had been provided to them by their accomplice, a 44-year-old Greek. During the searches, a folding knife, eight mobile phones, a remote control device with a screen, two notebooks with notes, clothing used during the explosion, as well as the aforementioned vehicle used to commit the act, were found and seized.

“For the bomb, I was hired by a couple who had old scores, as they told me, with the owner of the store, and they gave me 5,000 euros to go and plant it.” These were the only words of admission from one of the two men arrested. According to police investigations, the bomb was a “warning message.” The perpetrators demanded money for providing illegal protection, but the owner’s categorical refusal to submit to blackmail led to revenge. During the operation, 41-year-old Blerim Buci was found in an isolated area in nature, where he had tried to hide. When the police approached him and tried to stop him, he resisted strongly, hitting him with his hands and feet, but the officers managed to neutralize him. The arrested persons, who have previously been charged, among other things, with — as the case may be — theft, indecency, robbery, fraud, dangerous bodily harm, forgery, as well as violations of drug laws, were sent to the competent prosecuting authority.
