A strong debate took place in the Assembly between opposition MP Erald Kapri and majority MP Ardit Bido, focusing on positions towards Kosovo, relations with Serbia, protests and the legitimacy of the government.
Kapri accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of wrong stances towards Kosovo and of rapprochement with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

"Rama was the only prime minister after Enver Hoxha to visit Belgrade and, like Enver Hoxha, he has been silent about Kosovo. Rama has said about the north that it is no man's land. Ramush Haradinaj has publicly stated that Rama has asked him to divide Kosovo," Kapri said in the Assembly.

According to him, the Albanian government's statements and positions have created space for Serbian officials to attack Kosovo Albanians.
"Where does the Serbian minister find the courage to severely insult Kosovo Albanians, because she finds an ally in Tirana who is silent," declared the MP.

Kapri also criticized the situation in the Assembly, calling the large presence of police forces during the proceedings unacceptable.
"This Parliament is conducting its work under siege, with hundreds of police forces, as if we are in a state of emergency. This Parliament has completely lost its legitimacy," he said.

Kapri also raised the issue of the law on protected areas, saying that its repeal is a condition for European integration, while Rama has described it as one of the best laws.
"Yesterday it became known that the repeal of the law that was passed by order of 10 MPs, 21/2024, is a condition for integration, while Rama said that it is the best law ever."
"At the head of the government we have an anti-national prime minister who flirts with Vučić as if he were a bank friend. In Hungary, a protest is taking place for protected areas because the protest is being viewed with curiosity, unlike the last autocrat who will suffer the fate of everyone else," he said.

On the other hand, Socialist MP Ardit Bido rejected Kapri's accusations, describing them as populism.
"I'm sorry that we are hearing populism that has only brought blood to history. When Enver Hoxha went to Belgrade, he did not talk about Kosovo, but about the Balkan confederation," said Bido.
He stated that Albania has sought recognition of Kosovo as an independent state and criticized the opposition for its positions.
"Albania has requested through Prime Minister Rama that an independent Kosovo be recognized as independent. We heard the representative of a Movement that borders on anti-national, because they are hours late, when it comes to ethnic cleansing in Chameria, the small parties were absent from the hall and chose to hide like storks on the day the genocide was condemned."
A colleague's tribe here voted massively for Fredi Bellerin, said Bido.

The clash continued even after Bido's speech, where Kapri reacted to accusations that the protest against the government is linked to supporters of Fredi Beleri.
"The first-speaker MP insulted the protest when he said it was led by Fredi Beleri's people, but he did not react when Fredi Beleri appeared in a photo with the socialist MP in Strasbourg," said Kapri.

He also criticized the language used in the Assembly by the new MPs.
"I have followed politics for a long time, but I have not seen from Ruçi that the Socialist Party oppresses us. I do not understand how a young person can speak with hate speech. People with gray hair keep their mouths shut, while the youths let loose as if they came from nowhere," concluded Kapri.
