The fire, which initially started in the village of Lundre in the Ulëz Administrative Unit, continues to expand and today has spread to the Shkopet valley, which is a protected area.
The flames have started at the top of the mountain and are descending towards Lake Shkopet, endangering the homes in this area.
In the absence of air intervention, ground operations are difficult to stop the progress of the flames towards the protected area.
The homes in the village of Madhesh remain at risk, as do those in the village of Lundre, while the fire on the eastern side is approaching the villages of the Baz administrative unit.
The perimeter of the fire has reached several kilometers, and so far several homes and stables where local residents grazed their livestock have been burned.
