The fire situation in the Elbasan Region continues to be under constant monitoring by fire services, while several fires have reappeared during the day in various areas of Librazhd and Prrenjas.
One of the hotbeds that continues to be active is reported in Gurëshpatë, Librazhd. To cope with the situation, the Librazhd MZSH has been engaged in the field, with a fire truck and six employees, who are working to control the flames and prevent their spread.
According to the latest information, the fire in Gurëshpatë does not pose a danger to residential areas, while fire services continue monitoring and intervention on the ground.
On Mount Qukës, in the territory of the municipality of Prrenjas, the fire that has been active for five weeks is currently under surveillance. The Ministry of Environment and Forestry is monitoring the situation to avoid reactivation or the spread of the flames to other areas.
Meanwhile, during the day, fires were also reported in the Polis Mountain and in the Hotolisht area, bringing back the problem of fires in some of the mountainous areas of the region.
Librazhd firefighters have been continuously engaged in dealing with the situation, intervening in difficult and rugged terrain, where the work of extinguishing the flames becomes more difficult due to limited access and conditions on the ground, reports journalist Fatmir Popja.
The officers continue to be on standby for any new situation, while the priority remains the protection of the lives of residents, properties and forest areas.
Fire services are calling on citizens to exercise maximum caution and avoid any actions that could cause fires, especially in areas with vegetation and forests.
In this situation, MDS personnel continue to work in the field, often for hours and in difficult conditions, to bring the fires under control and prevent their spread.
Authorities remain on alert, while the situation in Gurëshpatë, Mali i Qukës, Mali i Polisit and Hotolisht continues to be monitored by the responsible structures.
