Farmers affected by floods and major damage to agriculture protested on Tuesday morning in front of the Maliq Municipality, demanding compensation from the state for losses caused to agricultural production.
According to the protesters, the floods are a result of mismanagement and lack of attention from institutions.
They emphasize that the lands are completely under water and that so far, they have not received any concrete assistance or support.
Farmers say they do not believe they will be compensated and are requesting the presence of the Minister of Agriculture to listen closely to their concerns.
They warn that if there is no reaction and compensation from the authorities, the protest will escalate, even blocking main roads.
The protest was monitored by numerous State Police forces, who were positioned at the entrance to Maliq Municipality to guarantee order and security.
The Maliq area is ranked among the most affected by floods in the Korça region, especially in the agricultural sector. According to the latest data, around 3,600 hectares of planted agricultural land remain under water, causing significant economic damage to farmers in the area.
