A serious environmental and health problem has been ongoing for years in neighborhood 6 of Kavaja, where dozens of residents denounce the dumping of sewage in the yards of their apartments.
The complaint was filed with "TakFak" by resident Shpëtim Nova, who indicates that for about a decade he and other families have been facing this situation due to the blockage of the sewage network.
According to him, the well located in his yard is out of order, as a main well in the area has been blocked.
He claims that the blockage was caused by a neighbor, who dumped inert material into the manhole on his property, rendering it unusable. According to residents, the neighbor's house was surrounded by walls, making it impossible to intervene to unblock the sewers.
As a result of this situation, at least 10 families have been affected, who face daily health risks, environmental pollution, crop destruction and strong odors. Residents say that walking through their yards has become difficult, while the fear of the spread of diseases remains high.
They demand urgent intervention from the responsible authorities to resolve the situation and put an end to a problem that has been going on for years.
