Former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, has appealed to the Supreme Court, requesting a change to the security measure of "prison arrest".
The request was filed this Tuesday, with Beqaj requesting the replacement of the arrest measure with a lighter security measure.
In the appeal filed with the High Court, the former minister also offered a financial guarantee, arguing that this is a sufficient measure to guarantee compliance with the obligations arising from the criminal process.
The Supreme Court is now expected to review the request and decide whether to leave the prison sentence in effect or accept its amendment.
