The mayor of Rrogozhina, Edison Memolla, surrenders to the Kavaja police.

He was found guilty of active electoral corruption committed in collusion and sentenced to 1 year in prison by the Special Court of Appeal.

As an additional punishment, the court also decided to revoke Memolla's right to hold public office for 5 years.
Edison Memolla was accused by the Special Prosecution Office of having influenced electrician Blerim Xhamani, with the aim of preventing the latter from cutting off the electricity supply to a debtor subscriber, in order for his wife to vote in his favor in the local by-elections on March 6, 2022, when he competed under the Socialist Party banner.
