A serious incident has shaken the area of ​​Nea Peramos, where yesterday afternoon the body of a 27-year-old businessman was discovered in a stream near the Holy Trinity Monastery. The victim had been reported missing after being abducted outside his apartment in Elefsina, in the early hours of last Monday. According to preliminary investigation data, the perpetrators took the young man to an isolated place, where they executed him with at least seven bullets. Afterwards, they allegedly tried to set fire to the body to eliminate the traces of the crime, but without success.

It is still unknown how long the 27-year-old was in the hands of the kidnappers, from the moment of the kidnapping in the center of Elefsina until his murder. The footage published by protothema.gr shows the moments before the kidnapping. In the video, the businessman is seen walking home at 02:01 on the morning of January 26, wearing a gray suit and a blue hoodie. As he enters the alley where the building where he lived with his partner is located, a blue car approaches from the opposite direction. Inside it were four people, who forced him into the vehicle at gunpoint and drove away.

The security camera footage was handed over to the Police by the victim's partner, who reported the kidnapping. From the analysis of the videos and license plates, the authorities determined that the vehicle used had been reported stolen in Thessaloniki. Investigators are now focusing on unraveling the motive for the crime. The kidnapping for ransom scenario has been ruled out, as despite the victim coming from a wealthy family, his family members were never contacted to demand money. The Homicide Police suspect that the murder is related to a financial dispute between the victim and the perpetrators. Authorities are also examining similarities with another murder that occurred in 2024 in the forest area of ​​Mandra, where a businessman was found murdered and his body, along with the vehicle used for the kidnapping, was burned by the perpetrators.
