Two children, aged 2 and 4, were found dead in a car park in Carpentras in southern France, amid a heatwave.
"The causes of death have not yet been determined, but the suspicion is that they died due to the heat wave," Carpentras prosecutor Hélène Mourez told AFP.
As reported, the children were found inside the vehicle in the parking lot of their home after their mother had returned from shopping.
Local media reports say it is not known exactly how the children got into the car or how long they were inside. According to preliminary information, the two children got into the car without their 33-year-old mother knowing.
