The 6-1 win over Atalanta came at a cost to Bayern Munich, with Musila and Alphonso Davies both out injured. The German winger suffered a knock to his ankle, while the Canadian winger suffered a right thigh injury. Goalkeeper Jonas Urbig is also in poor condition, with the latter suffering a brain injury. Ahead of the match against Bayern Leverkusen, coach Vincent Kompany took stock of the injured players:

"For Urbig we thought the situation would be more serious. The doctors are assessing his condition, I think we will have him available from the middle of next week. As for Musiala, he is expected to return to training from the beginning of next week. For Davies the situation is more complicated, I think he will be out for a few weeks. I think the break that the national team will bring will help us, I hope that afterwards we will have the full group again", said Kompany at the press conference before the match against Leverkusen.

With Neuer and Urbig injured, Bayern's third goalkeeper, Sven Ulreich, is expected to take the field against Leverkusen, but this fact does not worry coach Kompany.
