The credibility of central banks, financial stability and European integration were the focus of a conference held in Montenegro, which was also attended by the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko.

At the event organized by the Central Bank of Montenegro, Sejko was part of a panel with the governors of the region's central banks, where economic challenges in an environment characterized by uncertainty were discussed.

The Governor emphasized that credibility is essential for controlling inflation, maintaining public confidence, and macroeconomic stability.

Referring to Albania, he underlined the importance of a stable monetary policy, a flexible exchange rate and strengthening the financial system, in line with European standards.

Meanwhile, the Bank of Albania is preparing the implementation of TIPS Clone, the instant payment system, which is expected to be implemented by the end of the year and bring time and money savings for citizens and businesses.

Also in focus was Albania's membership in SEPA, which is expected to enable faster and lower-cost payments with European countries.

During the visit, Sejko also held meetings with IMF representatives and heads of the region's central banks, where European integration and strengthening financial cooperation were discussed.
